In my head, Paul was a Messianic, Bhuddist, and Devilish character. The KH was bred to return humanity to its full potential of self adaptation and exploration rather than be restricted by the powers of prescience or reliant on machines thinking for them. Innovation had stagnated following the B Jihad and the over use of spice had lead to human evolution being controlled by the imperium.
I forgot where I was going with this.
Sorry to be that guy
Duncan is the heroe of Dune
That’s a much better Dune meme.
Bless the Maker and His water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His passage cleanse the world. And keep the world for His people.
Moneo!!! I need another Duncan who knows when not to go behind the royal cart!!!
If you think Paul is bad just wait until you meet his kids
The whole Atreides family are an unruly bunch: Paul’s son Leo II is called the tyrant, Paul is overthrown by his sister Alia.
His preborn conscious sister who would try to orchestrate the killing of family members to ensure her rule? Yeah, she’s also a real peach
Who also has memories of Baron Harkonnen which isn’t supposed to happen because no Y chromosome. But whatever.
The Harkonnen personality needs more boys
Maybe she was intersex

Jessica got one of her X chromosomes from the Baron, and Alia got one of hers from Jessica. Does that not work?
I thought male memories were on the Y chromosome which is why you needed a male. If those memories could be accessed by women why have the KH at all?
They did save humanity though. Death of everyone or death of a large portion. Everyone loses.
Someone is an imperial sympathizer. You just believe his golden path story? Sounds like spice hallucinations to me
Not just him, the Bene Gesserit knew the same thing, so did other factions. Would the others work? Unlikely.
Spice was finite, it was used to travel, once the spice ran out, it was only time until humanity was ended.
Humanity got to Arrakis without spice, it’d survive one way or another
Spice had more than one use….
He’s both and neither.
The story is about the dangers of charismatic leaders.
The next one in the heritage might not be too charismatic
All of the aristocracy sucks, the people are fucked no matter who’s in power. Yes, I’m still talking about Dune, why?
The Landsraad, very powerful group, folks, very elite. All the Great Houses, the best of the best, believe me. Tremendous influence, incredible deals, they knew how to keep the Emperor in check, checks and balances, very important. Some people say it’s like the Senate, but smarter. More glamorous. Way more effective. These were major players, House Atreides, House Corrino, all of them, very classy. They knew strategy, they knew loyalty, and they didn’t let one man have all the power. Quite frankly, we could learn a lot from the Landsraad. Incredible negotiators. Winners. Total winners!
If only he was that articulate…
Didn’t Herbert specifically write Heretic because people mistook Paul as the hero?
