Sadly no winding down for me, I get to just keep working as normal (but better paid, yay penalty rates!) The weather is planning to cool down a bit again though which is a bit of a bonus and hopefully it means work won’t be too busy. If people can just keep their bbqs and spit roasts under control and not run into things in their cars it should be a fairly relaxed day (and it’s casual dress so I get to wear my Christmas t-shirt and antlers).
Some silver linings at least.

Yes, and people just won’t stop having emergencies so we can shut down for the day. A bit rude really, how hard is it to have just one day without trying to kill yourself? But no, it’s all ‘I’ll just throw this petol on the bbq to get it going’ or ‘I’m fine carving the turkey after half a bottle of wine’.

Crochet is not amusing anymore… current thing been sitting somewhere for ages, and was started with the unraveled yarn from another project I got bored with. Guess I burned out on crafting over lockie dees. Maybe I should rip it and start again with doubled strands and a bigger hook, to work up faster and destash more quickly.
Question is do animal shelters actually accept handmade blankets? And more to the point will I even finish one…

You could make beanies for the upcoming winter. Beanies are cool because you can practice different stitches and designs with them. They work up fast and can eliminate that boring “every line is the same” feeling. So many patterns out there.
When it gets cooler you could drop them off at your local charity.

Made fried rice and added too much soy sauce. Added an extra egg, some rice wine vinegar and some mango and I think those things saved it! Yay!
Made my mum try some and she said it was a bit soggy. I didn’t use day old rice and probably left things in the pan for too long. At least it was edible though!

I have to venture into the blazing sun for an appointment which I am not happy about, but it will be my first time riding in the Metro Tunnel so that makes up for it. They don’t really make it seamless during this trial period, the usual train and Metro Tunnel train do not overlap at all. 15 mins wait in the hot weather at West Footscray to change over.
