I don’t use spotify but I think I’ll spare everyone my music ‘wrap’ today :)

But this is for the Studspud:

Jumping from chilli to chilli leaving a wake of aphid destruction. The leaf curl you see could be aphids… or used be heh.

Good to see them in there on their own accord.

If I were a cheese, I would be a Gorgonzola. It’s not a popular cheese and can be quite salty with a bite from my blue veining. However, there are devout followers who love to crumble it on a boring salad to make it interesting.

Yep. That’s what set off the fire alarm at that hotel I was at earlier this year

The one I stayed in while in Adelaide had multiple angry signs in the kitchen telling you that if you set off the fire alarm, they’ll charge you a $500 fee ($1000 if after hours and they had to call someone out) as well as whatever fee the fire brigade charges them

My Spotify wrapped has been disappointing me over the past few years. I used to have such an eclectic music taste, but getting older I’m listening to what’s familiar to me a bit too much. I don’t like the complacency.

Going to spend the next few weeks saving some new music to listen over the holidays, and listening to albums I’ve saved over the year but never bothered to listen. Currently listening to Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk, for fans of synth-pop and prog-rock this one is for you.

Spotify recommends stuff you already play so that’s why I ask the DT for new stuff. The only new artist that I really really like is Dua Lipa.

My kid plays stuff like this in the car where I can’t escape. She said the other day, talking about Azealia Banks “She has good songs but gee she’s a crazy bitch”.

The first I’ve heard of Chapelle roan was this year’s “good luck babe”. I don’t mind some charli stuff (1999 ♥️) I do not like Olivia Rodrigo

          Any Chappell songs you recommend?

Um like her whole album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

I can’t really pick an absolute favourite, the whole album is just an experience. A Femininomenon, so to speak 😂 start at the start and enjoy!

Ahaha, mine is out of control.

Top songs were all songs in English (I stand corrected) mostly, English by non-English artists: Thai, Cambodian, Taiwanese and Korean.

My top artists were: Tanerélle, Limi, WIM, Sleep Token and Keshi. 🤣

I forgot I listened to so much Tanerélle this year.

But I listen to such a wide variety, it’s not really a surprise.

Discover weekly and the radio channels (where you click the radio button based on a specific song and it plays more songs like it) are how I find a lot of new music

I put it on as background noise while I’m doing other things and if I start bobbing my head, I probably like a song

My partner is seriously obsessed with her 😂 and so am I!

Every song is a banger, and I fucking love that I can tell what her musical inspirations are in each song.

Good Luck Babe is such a vibe, but my fav is My Kink is Karma -chefs kiss-

you arnt wrong. hes recently started to work on communication, not just saying words. He will sometimes try copy what you say, he wants to learn the pets names. its crazy how he went from a crying potato last year to this confident toddler in like 12 months.

It’s funny how they copy you and how literal they are. I wanted my son to close the recycling so I closed it with my foot because that was easier for me, I thought he’d push it closed with his hands at his height. Nope, he had to try push the recycling closed with his foot as well

skipped the coffee today, no coke either. those 2 black teas are the pillar of my consciousness today but they are pretty wonky pillars. Sometimes I wonder how much coffee powers my mental health barriers and that just makes the days easier? Maybe thats a thread I dont really want to pull on.

    IT HERE

Opened the box under my camera as planned. No dramas. No scam. He seemed unhappy I didn’t give him the number over the phone, but I was waiting outside, saw him pull in, and started giving him the code as soon as he was ready. Unless he truly had bad intentions he can’t be upset about that

All in all, I’m happy. Now my wifi needs should be future proofed for like a decade unless something breaks. Wifi 7 is too expensive, so it’s just wifi 6e, and only gigabit (with a single 2.5gbps port). Way over kill for my 100mbps FTTC plan, but I live in hope that one day I shall behold gigabit FTTP

I lost my birth certificate AND my passport so I had to jump on Vic Birth Death Marriages website and jump through hoops (on my own end) to order a new birth certificate. My god what a horrible, unintuitive website. I have no idea if I’ve done it correctly or if it is being processed now or not.

I had to do that too a few years ago, because mum lost my actual birth certificate and I only had the extract, which is useless for everything.

Pain in the ass tbh, and gathering from this their website is still a pile of steaming shit. Sorry man, just commiserating because it sucks assssss

Also noticed there seems to be somebody downvoting all the DTs. Bit weird. Wonder if it’s people browsing /all getting the shits that they’re seeing posts every day about something they think is irrelevant. Odd way to live, considering there’s no algorithm on Lemmy to learn from your voting habits, but oh well

W’s last comment was on my rambling yesterday. I actually read it and meant to reply but it slipped my mind

@wscholermann@aussie.zone if you’re still around please know I didn’t mean to ignore you, and also didn’t take your comment to be a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps mentality” as that other person said. I thought it was actually a lovely sentiment (genuinely, not just saying that to make you feel better or anything. I appreciated the encouragement). I’ve appreciated your help, and hope you are okay

She is impressed as much as a teenager can be.

Her: I’m so glad you parents aren’t normal. My friends mums listen to Fox fm and shit but you guys play cool stuff.

Husband and I look at each other: I think that’s a compliment dear.
