It’s great how, they might have list the contest, but it’s undisputably the most “successful” piece of art that came out of it

I don’t know what the contest was for, but the piece itself really struck a major cord with its target audience

I’ll get back to you on that. I’m currently reading Roland Boer’s “Socialism with Chinese characteristics” (with “The basic economic system of china” queued up afterwards) and it sort of overthrows my entire perspective on marxism, socialism, communism, etc. I’m in favor of equity and equality, human rights and well-being for everyone, but so it seems are the Chinese, and it seems there’s actually a lot of work to that end happening in China. It’s just being obscured by western liberalism. Who knows what I’ll see on the other side. I don’t mean to say that atrocities didn’t or don’t happen, they obviously do. What’s interesting to me and what other books on China kept from me is that actually Chinese do know about those atrocities. They’re fully aware and critize them just as much as we do, just with their own lens instead of a western liberal lens.

It remains to be seen how I’ll think about China, but I can already tell you the situation is much more complex than you might see from a western perspective.

I’m genuinely not a tankie. I’d actually consider myself anarchist, but I’m also interested in actually learning about things. Roland Boer has actual experience in China as well as in a Chinese school for Marxism, so who am I to immediately disregard his opinion because the whole idea is unpopular here?

Right now your response is very shallow and ignorant, and thus easily manipulated by people with big wallets. I mean it truly is a kneejerk reaction from you. Those are the most easily exploited.

If you don’t think you’re a Tankie after explaining your beliefs to me, then you didn’t know what a Tankie was until I told you.

My belief right now is merely that China is much more complex than I previously thought. I don’t think you’re necessarily arguing in good faith here.

When I was about 13, I started my path into goth subculture, in the late 90s . I am so very happy that this was the enviorment I was exposed to during my teens, when identity is formed and you are so very open to new ideas.

I grew up with a complete normalisation of gay and lesbian interactions, surrounded by men that were comftable wearing makeup and integrating elements of crossdressing into their outfits.

I could test out my ideas of a male gender and my sexuality without the boundaries that society troughs at us usually and I honestly think it was an absolute blessing.

Not sure where this is going but I’ve heard that crabs are actually only turning red when they’re dead and cooked (something, something capitalism?)

I would have to explain color theory, and that shit is a cognitohazard.

I don’t mean like ‘rokos basilisk’ “what if we reflavored the dumbest ideas of the dark ages, but cyberpunk flavor and with 200% more irrational dumbshit assumptions based on a pretty okay scifi story I read decades ago and now assume is a substitute for logic” ‘cognitohazard’ I mean genuinely shit that can break your brain, can consume you, can destroy you.

so there is an answer, and when you even approach it, you will become the abyss into which others should not stare. may there be a god to help you, because I will be unable.

I cannot explain that without defiling you. A portion of who I am now is forever locked away, a secret to the world, and should it ever be known I will destroy my audience, will drag them down into the incomprehensible dark alongside me. this is not a fate you should desire.

just stay away from fucking color theory. there are three primary colors and you make other colors by combining them. black is no colors. white is all the colors at once. you don’t need to know anything else.
